Nature’s Legacy is one of many companies affected by COVID -19. Mid of March this year the company decided to temporarily stop the factory operation and has to follow with the community quarantine mandated by the government.

It panicked the employees and their families. They couldn’t earn money to support their daily needs. But vegetable gardening became a weapon against lost income. They make utilize of the back yard of the NLE housing to plant for nutritious vegetables. During the quarantine period, gardening lessen their expenses at the same time provide fresh and healthy vegetables to serve on the table and it gives them joy and happiness seeing the fruit of their labors and sharing it with the neighbors.

It also strengthens the bond of the families, by cultivating and watering the plants together this gives them more time with each other and a good exercise as well. Since they have enough food supply from the plants they planted, they no longer go out to the market, to keep safe from the virus and to follow the quarantine protocol.
